MountainKeepers is seeking to partner with community groups who have a mission to make a positive change in our community. We invite you to participate in our November 22 event to explore the question, "How can we create a more resilient community?" Everyone who cares about the future of the High Country has a place in this conversation. We encourage you to join us and also to bring information to share with the other participants. An exhibit area will be available for your display and/or materials. Help us educate while we converse and learn together on this exciting day.
For the past decade, the MountainKeepers organization has been an independent voice for the safekeeping of the special character of our communities and region, the preservation of our local natural resources, unique heritage and culture, and an enhanced quality of life for all citizens.
Now, as the world faces the very significant challenges to society and the planet brought about by global climate change, peak oil, and rapid population growth, the MountainKeepers is rechartering itself into a broader alliance, one capable of steadily increasing the resilience of the community and moving our region toward greater sustainability.
The intent of this alliance is to stimulate and enable collaboration, coordination, and communication across the numerous already existing efforts, programs, and activities committed to these ideals, and also to identify, champion, and support new endeavors that promote the resilience and sustainability of the High County.
